Jonathan (Jon) Kellam, Founder and President of The Kellam Group, devoted over thirty years of his career to education, primarily in leadership positions. From 2007-2022, Jon served as Head of School (aka CEO) of The Oakridge School, an independent, college-preparatory school in Arlington, Texas. During his tenure, Jon managed a multi-million dollar budget, led 150 employees, and oversaw a 100-acre campus. He also built a reputation as a skilled communicator and crisis manager.
Jon is a lifelong student of leadership. From his early days as a captain of the football team and Teacher of the Year to his more recent appointments as a Klingenstein Fellow at Columbia University and Chairman of the Board of the Southwest Preparatory Conference, Jon knows how to build and motivate teams, nurture relationships and networks, and create culture and synergy. Jon is also an adept collaborator and problem-solver, and his former colleagues describe his calmness, kindness, and professionalism as key to his leadership style.
Jon's entrepreneurial spirit and love of leadership were the driving forces behind the formation of The Kellam Group. In addition to serving his partners in leadership, Jon invests his time in his family, friends, and faith. Married to his wife of thirty years, Jon and Kristi have two grown sons, Cole and Cade. In his leisure, Jon enjoys outdoor grilling, college football, and, of course, reading about leadership.

Top leadership roles are exciting and rewarding, yet they are complex and messy. At times, executive life is exhausting and lonely. Seasoned leaders are responsible for tackling projects and problems that lack definitive solutions and are charged with navigating ideas and issues that require critical thinking and creativity. Often, skilled leaders rely solely on past experiences and keen instincts to guide their decision-making.
Embracing a philosophy of "Iron Sharpens Iron", The Kellam Group serves as a partner in leadership to Heads of Schools, chief executives, senior leaders, and management teams. With The Kellam Group, the goal of every project is an exceptional experience marked by extraordinary service. We know that each client is unique; therefore, we uniquely tailor each project.
Looking for an executive coach, leadership consultant, or strategic advisor? Seeking wise council, a sounding board, team synergy, or an assessment or re-direction of school/company culture? If so, The Kellam Group is eager to discuss a potential partnership with you.
